It has a great achievement for the country as it has been entered in a club of tallest statues in the world. The statue is announced to be the world’s tallest statue with a height of 182 meters. It has made a record within itself. Previously, the Spring Temple of Buddha was titled as the tallest statue. The statue of unity is double the height of Statue of Liberty and thrice more the height of Christ De Redeemer.
Statue of Unity, world’s colossal statue is a tribute to an iron man of India – Sardar Patel. It was unveiled by our Primer Minister Narendra Modi on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is credited for determined efforts of the Sardar Patel towards uniting 563 royal states of pre-independent India.
The Statue of Unity’s official announcement of the project was done on 7 October 2010. The Prime Minister laid a foundation stone for the statue on October 31, 2013. It is designed by highly professional sculptor Ram V Sutar, who have received Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awardee for his artistic work. The work of Statue initiated October 31, 2014, and it took 33 months of hard work along with effortless dedication to complete in the year 2018.

While driving there is an option of state highway 11 and 63, the statue is just 3.5 kilometers away from the nearest town of Kevadia is the Narmada district. From the mainland, there is source passing through the bridge to arrive at the statue. Also, another plausible way is through ferry ride till Sadhu Bet island.
Statue of Unity will be closed every Monday for the purpose of maintenance. It will be open from Tuesday to Sunday. You can visit the tallest statue of the world from 9 am to 5 pm. The tickets are booked online from its official website.
Also, you can book tickets on the spot by selecting a preferred time and daybook your tickets online as well as offline. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust maintains the online ticket booking system.
To get possible picturesque environs of the statue there is a pricing ticket of Rs.350 per person while there is free entry for 3 years. The observation deck elevates you to a height of 400 feet till the chest of Sardar Patel Statue with the automated high-speed elevators that can lead within 30 seconds.
Buses are available for tourists inside the complex booking is accepted for it online too. Soon there will be boat rides starting. Also, there is 30-minute laser show occurring every evening. Those who plan to extend their stay then there are 3-star hotels nearby or inside the complex.
Vadodara is a major city whose railway station is the nearest railhead. Public transportation and private transportation are sources to reach directly to site.
