7. Street (Sheri) Garba of Ahmedabad

Street Garba is practiced as a folk art of Navratri events in Ahmedabad. Due to the force of commercial party plots and clubs, it has been forgotten over the decades.

However, when most of the crowd is planning to visit Garba party plot or clubs, a lot of people are thronging towards the common streets to play Garba. Many apartments and private residential societies organize Garba pandals in the open-field ground.

The crown of the event lies in group aarti performed for Maa Durga. The dancers distribute among the lovely groups playing Raas in a circular pattern around the pandals. You don’t have to buy Navratri passes for street Garba, and usually, it is organized from the society’s fund collection.
