Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Gujarat flagged the first ride of a metro train from Vastral Gam Station.
The much-awaited project of Metro Rail Phase 1 has paved Gujarat’s First own metro transport network. The technology is sponsored by MEGA (Metro Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad) with some salient features. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Gujarat flagged the first ride of a metro train from Vastral Gam Station.
The length of Project Phase 1 spans about 40.3 km from which 6.5 Km lies underground while another stretch is elevated. Ahmedabad Metro connects the four corners of city comprising of 2 corridors and 32 stations.
The Ahmedabad Train Route would cover significant stations that will facilitate public transport for travelers of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar region. The project would enhance the facility of living substantially in urban areas. The North to South corridor will interlink from Motera Stadium to APMC. It will follow a route of Sabarmati, AEC, Sabarmati Railway Station till Rajivnagar and Jivraj Stations. This corridor would including 15 stations all elevated.
While East-West corridor has a span of 21.16 km that will connect from Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam, it would be including Nirant Cross Road, Rabari Colony, Kankaria East, Kalupur Railway Station till Doordarshan Kendra and Thaltej Stations.
Soon, Ahmedabad habitats can get around and enjoy the ride in shoestring budget with Metro Train. It is expected the fare may initiate from Rs. 15 per trip of two kms.
